Physiographical and geológical charçracteristic of the Río Grande basin are exposed. The factors which control or cause the mud flow are described, for instance: Litology, topography, rains and the human's actions. In like manner, one analysis of the aspect wich have influence on the Río Grande behavior are done. The problems of the mass-wasting are appearend in the whole basin, specially in the Summer. The Río Grande basin are divided on basis of climatic conditions and the vegetation for one side and the stratigraphy for the other. Se esponen las características fisiológicas y geológicas de la cuenca del Río Grande. Se describen fundamentalmente los factores que controlan o determinan los flujos de barro, tales como la litología, topografía, lluvias y la acción del hombre. Asimismo se hace un análisis de los aspectos que influyen en el comportamiento del Río Grande. -Los problemas de remoción se presentan en toda la cuenca, especialmente en las épocas de verano. Además, se hace una división de la misma en base a las condiciones climmáticas y de vegetación por un lado y en base a al estratigrafía y fisiográfia por otro lado. Relevamiento: 1987.
