The aim of the of research here presented has been to find out both the geológical and mineralogical characteristics of the mineral deposit at Chinchillas. At the same time, a hipothesis is brought forth concerning its metallogenesis; and conclusions and recommendation are arrived at concerning its detailed exploration. -The deposit, located at an approximate height of 4000 metres above sea level, lies on the Eastern slope of Cerro Fundiciones - department of Rinconada in the province of Jujuy, 83 kilometres west of the town of Abra Pampa, on the stretch of provincial road between Abra Pampa and Mina Pirquitas..
