<br/><br/> The aim of the of research here presented has been to find out both the geológical and mineralogical characteristics of the mineral deposit at Chinchillas. At the same time, a hipothesis  is brought forth concerning its metallogenesis; and conclusions and recommendation are arrived at concerning its detailed exploration. -The deposit, located at an approximate height of 4000 metres above sea level, lies on the Eastern slope of Cerro Fundiciones - department of Rinconada in the province of Jujuy, 83 kilometres west of the town of Abra Pampa, on the stretch of provincial  road between Abra Pampa and Mina Pirquitas.. The geographic región has the climatic characteristics, as well  as the fauna and flora, typical of the Argentine Puna.
