Consideraciones sobre el ordovícico de la Sierra de Aguilar. Jujuy. Argentina.
Relevamiento: 1982.
Fossils and fossil traces within stratigraphical sections of Vaca Ravine and Despensa River, Aguilar Range, Jujuy Province, were finded. A brief review of the lithostratigraphic formations of the paleozoic column exposed in the area (Despensa, Padrioc and Acoite formations) is made. This column show a thickness of 4.800 ft. Sedimentary structures and fossil traces demostrate on the subtidal channel and tidal flat facies ocurrences in the depositional environments. The polymictic conglomerates have pebbles of metamorphic, granitic and volcanic rocks showing the provenance of a continental crystallophillic basement. Small tectonic flakes of Lampazar fomation overlie the upthrown side of Aguilar fault. . Resumen ver en revista.
