N2  - El Sauce fue escenario, en un pasado no lejano, de una intensa actividad termal, como lo atestiguan los depósitos travertínicos existentes. En la actualidad, los manantiales emergen en sitios muy limitados y son de escaso caudal. -La geología del área era poco conocida, probablemente por su suave relieve y por estar cubierta, en gran parte, con un espeso acarreo y densa vegetacíon . En esta investigación, se ha logrado dilucidar la estratigrafía con la mayor exactitud posible, mencionándose por primera vez la presencia del Ordovicico y la totalidad del Grupo Orán. Tambien la estructura es tratada con cierto detalle y se señala la similitud del estilo del área con las Sierras Subandinas de Santa Bárbara, en el sentido de Baldis et al.(1.975).-A su vez, el trabajo incluye el estudio integral de los manantiales termales y una hipótesis sobre el origen del calor; El Sauce was the setting,in a recent past, of intense thermal activity, as is shown by existing travertine deposits. At present, the spring emerge in very limited places and their discharge is very scarce.- The geology of the area was little known, probably due to its gentle relief and to the fact that it was greatly covered by thick transportation and dense vegetation. In this paper, the stratigraphy of the area has been dilucidated as accurately as possible, the presence of the Ordovician and the whole of the Orán Group being mentionet for the first time.The structure is also dealt wiht in some detail and the similarity of the structural style of the area and that of the Sierras Subandinas de Santa Bárbara are pointed out, in the way that Baldis et al.(1.975)did so.-Furthermore, the paper includes a complete study of the hot water springs as well as a hypothesis on the origin of the heat source.-
